Automatic Linked or Exploding Codes
Tenet Entities may not use a single ordering element to generate orders or charges for more than one test. This is known as automatic, linked or exploding codes. Each test or service is to be separately identified and ordered in any information system used by a Tenet Entity. Each Tenet Entity must make sure that the clinical or order entry system they use do not have system programming that allows automatic, linked or exploding codes.
