Confidentiality of Information
Confidential information may exist in many different forms. For example, it may be found in formal documents, reports, handwritten notes or computer media and files. In addition, employees must maintain strict confidentiality concerning patients. Patient information should never be discussed unless necessary to perform work-related duties. For more guidance, information on patient privacy can be found in Tenet’s Privacy Policies and Procedures.
All employees are required to complete the Information Privacy and Security Training on .edu within thirty days of hire date. Some employees may be required to sign a non- disclosure agreement as a condition of their employment.
This may not apply, in part or in its entirety, to employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Those employees should consult their facility HR leader to determine the impact, if any, of their collective bargaining agreement on this topic and policy.
