Solicitation and Distribution of Literature

- Tenet employees may not solicit employees or distribute non-work related literature for any reason during work periods.  The distribution of literature is never permitted in any work area.

- Non-employees may not solicit or distribute literature, however, approved charitable activities or sponsored activities related to employee benefits are allowed.

- Any work areas
- Patient care areas
  - Patient rooms
  - Operating and recovery rooms
  - Patient treatment rooms (e.g., emergency, radiology, radiation oncology, therapy)
  - Corridors next to patient rooms, operating and recovery rooms, treatment rooms
  - Nurses’ stations
  - Sitting rooms on patient floors
  - Lockers close to patient care areas
  

- Employees may choose to participate in solicitations permitted by policy
  - Employees’ decisions must be respected and free from retaliation
- Employees have the right to participate in protected activities under the National Labor Relations Act (e.g., discussing terms and conditions of employment, wages or benefits or work conditions)

- Managers are required to contact HR if solicitation or distribution of literature is observed
