Tenet recognizes the value former employees can present to future roles within our organization. Former employees may possess a knowledge with Tenet’s values, goals, policies and operations adding value to future roles. Qualified individuals, who departed in good standing, are welcome to apply for future roles within the organization.
- Reinstated employees retain their original hire date as their “hire date”
- Reinstated employees that received benefits when they left Tenet will receive benefits effective on their reinstatement date
- Reinstated benefits-eligible employees who did not satisfy the 30-day waiting period when they left Tenet need to meet the 30-day requirement before receiving benefits
- Days worked during prior employment is credited toward the 30-day waiting period
- Dental and Income Replacement benefits where applicable begin on the employee’s first day of reinstatement
- PTO begins accruing on the first day of reinstatement at a percent based on original date of hire
- Prior Extended Illness balances are not restored upon reinstatement
- Reinstatement in the Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP) applies to employees who are:
- Annual Incentive Plan participants
- Employed physicians
- Reinstatement is in the same calendar year
- Employee’s prior election will be the same as previous election
- Reinstatement is in a different calendar year
- Employee receives a new enrollment package with 30 days to re-enroll
- Reinstatement into a non-eligible position within the same calendar year
- Prior elections are deleted from the payroll record
- Reinstatement into an eligible position
- Employee receives a new enrollment package with 30 days to re-enroll
- Supervisors/Leaders
- Contact Facility/Division HR prior to rehiring or reinstating former employee
- Provide recommendations on retention incentive to HR, if needed
- Facility/Division HR
- Review request to rehire or reinstate a former employee
- Confirm with supervisor on rehire or reinstatement
- Complete background check if older than six months prior to the rehire or reinstatement
- OIG/GSA check must occur prior to rehire
- Complete drug screen before being rehired or reinstated
- Ensure employee complies with hiring requirements (e.g., E-verify, Occupational Health assessments)
