Medical Leave: Non-Occupational and Occupational

Leave of Absence

Tenet provides continuous medical leave of absence without pay to employees who temporarily are not able to work because of a serious health condition or injury sustained on or off the job and are not eligible for a FMLA leave. The HR Leave Representative assists employees and supervisors with the medical leave request process. When there is an injury or illness related to work, an Occupational Health/Workers Compensation Coordinator assists employees with getting emergency medical care, finding occupational providers, and reports incidents when more than first aid is needed to Tenet’s Third-Party Administrator within 72 hours of the incident.
Employees that may qualify for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or Disability, may refer to the applicable policy or contact HR for more information.
This may not apply, in part or in its entirety, to employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Those employees should consult their facility HR leader to determine the impact, if any, of their collective bargaining agreement on this topic and policy.
